WHAT IS A RUDRAKSHA?
Rudraksha, a natural seed that is found in the bright blue fruits of Elaeocarpus ganitrus, is an indigenous plant to the Himalayas, India, and Nepal. It can also thrive in other parts of Southeast Asia where volcanic soil is favorable to its growth.
Rudraksha literally translates to “the tears of Shiva.” According to legend, Shiva, the great Mahadeva and divine gift-giver, began to cry out of compassion while contemplating man’s suffering.
